Background/Fingerprinting

All employees must successfully pass a background check prior to starting work for Cullman County Schools.  The Alabama State Department of Education requires the background/fingerprinting to be completed via Gemalto Applicant Fingerprinting Online Services (https://cogentid.3m.com).  Applicants MUST register and pay online through Gemalto Cogent Systems prior to arriving at a fingerprint location.  Please follow the below directions on how to complete the background check through Gemalto Applicant Fingerprinting Online Services.

STEP 1 - ONLINE REGISTRATION (Alabama applicants MUST register online)

STEP 2 - PAYMENT

  • Fingerprint Fee is $46.90.
  • Applicants may pay online during registration using a debit or credit card.
  • Applicants may pay at the fingerprint site with money order or cashiers check.  Cash, credit/debit cards or personal/business checks are NOT accepted at the fingerprint locations.

STEP 3 - FINGERPRINTING 

Out-of-State Applicants may submit a completed fingerprint card AND a money order or cashiers check in the amount of $54.90 made out of Gemalto Cogent.  See Fingerprint Cards - Out of State only at https://cogentid.3m.com/al/index_adeNew.htm.
